2013 World Cup in Cardrona (Halfpipe - 21st)
2017 and 2019: Fractured collarbone.
2011, 2013, 2015: Knee (anterior cruciate ligament injury) and surgery in 2016. Missed Oslo X Games. "I've been struggling a lot with my knee the past few months after a crash at last year's Audi Nines and I've reached a point where I can't ski how I want to anymore. Finding out that my ACL is pretty much gone confirms all my doubts and fears of going big. Surgery happened a couple of days ago after the longest rollercoaster ride I've ever been on. Can't wait for my rehab to start - I'll be back pipe jocking in no time." (Athlete, Feb 2016)
2012: Fractured scaphoid.
2013
Started skiing at age two, switching to snowboarding at age seven: "I promised myself I would never go back to skiing...but I guess I did. Went back into skiing and started freeskiing when I was 15. That's when I got hooked onto park riding and where it all began." (Athlete, May 2021)
When she started freesking she only did park riding and competed in slopestyle. After her second knee surgery, she was trying to ride the halfpipe in New Zealand for fun, because it was still too painful to hit the big jumps. That's when she really started to like pipe riding. "I guess it really started when my coach signed me up super last minute for the Halfpipe World Cup in Cardrona in 2013, which ended up being the start of my journey to the 2014 Sochi Olympics in halfpipe." (Athlete, May 2021)
Most fascinated by the freedom in this sport and not about who goes down the mountain fastest (freely deciding what jumps and tricks they want or can show). The solidarity and togetherness among the athletes are unique, as well as the travelling together, and the fact they experience so much together, even though they then compete against each other. (skideutschland.de, 2019)
Making her third Olympic team, to compete at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. "I wanna be a role model for women's freeskiing in Germany and hopefully bring more kids into the sport." (Athlete, May 2021)
Finishing eighth at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, fifth place Overall in the 2015 World Cup, 2014 Junior World champion halfpipe title. (Athlete, May 2021)
Freestyle skier Kaya Tursk (CAN), 2013 World slopestyle champion. "I looked up to Kaya a lot when I started freeskiing. She was by far the best at that time and her style of riding was incomparable."
Freestyle skier Sarah Burke (CAN), who passed away in 2012 due to complications after a skiing accident in training. "The person I got inspired by the most, especially when I started halfpipe riding. I remember meeting her at the first Nine Queens Event and she was by far the nicest and most caring and cheering person up there."
Snowboarder Jamie Anderson (USA), two-time Olympic champion, 2019 World Championships bronze medallist. "I love her spirit, her mindfulness, and her riding. She inspires me a lot." (Athlete, May 2021)
Freestyle skier Thomas Hlawitschka (GER), her first coach who introduced her to halfpipe skiing. (Athlete, May 2021)
Anton Buchwieser (GER) and Martin Auracher (GER), her physical coach and osteopath from home: "Without them, I would have never come back after three ACL surgeries." (Athlete, May 2021)
Korbi Resenberger (GER): team manager and part-time coach of the German freestyle skiing squad: "He was always with me during all the major events and always cheers me up no matter what." (Athlete, May 2021)
Friends and family, especially during the times when she is injured. "Thanks mom for spending lots of hours at doctors and hospitals with me." (Athlete, May 2021)
"I always wear the same socks and ski underwear for competitions. I need to have fruit loops in my breakfast muesli on comp day." (Athlete, May 2021)
"Everything happens for a reason and you are exactly where you're supposed to be."
"I believe that every injury and every setback happens for a reason and there's always something good out of it." (Athlete, May 2021)
