He went for summer training to Moscow and fell in love with the city and some of his closest friends are living there as well. He started training full-time in Russia in 2019, but had to return to Australia in 2020 when COVID-19 hit. He returned to Moscow in spring 2021. (Athlete, 4 Dec 2021)
Skating a clean short programme at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games (16th in the short programme, 21st in the final result).
Qualifying for his second Olympic Winter Games (2018) directly at the World Championships 2017 (15th). "I did the best SP I could and then in the free, at the end, I kept singing in my head “I’m going to the Olympics, I’m going to the Olympics”.
Competing in his first national championship at age nine. "I won a medal and wore it under my school uniform shirt for a week."
