General Interest

TEAMING UP WITH IOULIA CHTCHETININA
After his short partnership with Elizaveta Kashitsyna ended, he considered quitting the sport and set himself a deadline to find a new, suitable partner. He asked Ioulia Chtchetinina for a try-out as he knew her from competitions. "And I gave myself a deadline: if I find someone in that season with whom I can actually get somewhere, really compete, and not just show up at competition, then I will give it everything. But if not, it's time to move on. That's why I contacted her. I knew that she is experienced, checks a lot of boxes that you need in a partner." (absoluteskating.com, 22 Jun 2020)

TRAINING ABROAD
Since there is no pair skating coach in Hungary, he had to train most of the time abroad and is looking forward to returning home after the end of his career. "I want to spend a lot of time with my family and friends as the past 10 years I mostly trained abroad, so I couldn't be an active part of the people's life who are close to me." (Athlete, 14 Jun 2021)

FORMER PARTNERS
Anna Khnychenkova 2009-11, Camille Foucher 2012-13, Anna Marie Pearce 2015-16, Darja Beklemiscseva 2016-17, Elizaveta Kashitsyna 2017-18.

TRYING ALL DISCIPLINES
He started with ice dance, then did single skating and eventually switched to pair skating. "I did ice dance when I was really little, eight or nine, and I kind of had the feeling that I really didn't want to skate with someone else. If I mess up, I want to mess up all by myself! (..) Then of course I started to realize that I'm twice the size of all the other single skaters who are around me, not just in Hungary but when I competed internationally. (...) Multiple people were asking me why I was not trying pairs because I was big enough, I was naturally strong already as a kid… And those people knew more about the sport, so they persuaded me." (absoluteskating.com, 22 Jun 2020)

ACCOMPLISHED COACH
Coach Fedor Klimov (RUS) is the 2014 Olympic silver medallist in pair skating (with partner Ksenia Stolbova).
