COVID-19
Stayed in Korea with limited training options most of the time in 2020. “Because of COVID I was locked down in Korea and did a lot of quarantine last year, so I think my body was not as loose (as it normally is) and it was hard to get back into shape." START IN SINGAPORE
Grew up in Singapore where she lived for nine years as her family had moved there when she was an infant. Started skating in Singapore, but moved back to Korea in 2013 with her mother to have more professional training conditions. (www.isu.org, 20 Feb 2020).

Sixth at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games singles champion, ahead of Russians Kseniya Sinitsyna and Anna Frolova.

Two top-10 finishes at the World Junior Championships (sixth in 2019, ninth in 2018)

Bronze medallist at the Grand Prix events Skate Canada 2019, Skate America 2021, and NHK Trophy 2021.

Made headlines when she won the senior-level national title at age 11 in 2016, surpassing the previous record set by Yuna Kim who won at age 12 in 2003. Four-time South Korean national champion (2015, 2017-19).

First Korean female skater to land a triple Axel in competition.
