“We moved to Scotland when I was around eight and the town had a curling rink, so my dad asked if I wanted to try a sport he did when he was younger. I was interested to try it, so my cousin and I went along to a Forfar young curlers session on a Saturday morning. I really enjoyed it.” (Athlete, 7 Jan 2022)

:

"When I first started I just loved sliding up and down the ice. Now I love the combination of skill and strategy. I love that curling involves a small team and to be successful the team has to bond well and really support one another. This has helped me, I don’t think I’d be successful without the support and motivation of my team, and I love being able to support them.” (Athlete, 7 Jan 2022)

EMPHATIC DEBUT
Won gold at her senior international debut at the 2021 European Championships in Lillehammer, with a 10-1 record, defeating Sweden's Team Hasselborg in the final.

STILL AMAZED
“What’s happened this season is just absolutely crazy to me. To be playing alongside [Muirhead], because I always thought that would never happen and she would have to retire before I could get to this position. She’s not as scary as I was expecting. She’s actually really lovely, she’s helped me so much and I can go to her with anything I need.” (eurosport.com, 8 Dec 2021)

SPORT FOR ALL
“This is a great sport for any level of ability. It is not unusual to see world-class players competing alongside beginners in local club games during the week, which makes curling pretty unique. I still continue to play with my dad in club league games and I used to compete with him in the Scottish Mixed Doubles Championships, which is really cool.” (Athlete, 7 Jan 2022)
