General Interest

PARTNERS OFF ICE
Met her eventual husband at a curling tournament, when they played on opposing four-player teams. They chose their current apartment based on location; their curling centre is 10 minutes away and workplace another 10 minutes away. Played the mixed doubles discipline for 11 years. Decided to focus as a team in 2018, at the conclusion of the PyeongChang Olympic cycle. “Marriage is our advantage, we know each other very well and we know what to expect from each other. We met in a curling rink.” (Athlete, dvtv.cz, 28 May 2021)

MOTIVATION
Missing qualification for PyeongChang 2018 helped prepare them for their Beijing qualifying win over the United States at the 2021 World Championship in Aberdeen. “We lost in 2017 at the worlds in the semi-final to Switzerland, on the last shot. We knew we could be in the situation again, and we learned from it.” (Athlete, 26 Jun 2021)

RAW EMOTION
“The emotions after the win over the US team were extreme. I am not normally that emotional. We worked very hard for the last four years to be in that game, and to play the game of our careers.” (Athlete, dvtv.cz, 28 May 2021)
