BOLIVIAN FIRST
His participation at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, along with that of the Austrian-born alpine skier Simon Breitfuss, was the first time that a Bolivian citizen had qualified for the Olympic Winter Games on their own merits, and not on the basis of a national quota. PyeongChang 2018 was Bolivia's first time back competing in the Olympic Winter Games since Albertville 1992.(Deportesbolivia, Feb 2018)

FROM FINLAND TO BOLIVIA AND BACK
Lived in Finland until 2009, then moved to the United States of America to attend university. In 2010 while studying international language and communications in Miami, he met his future wife Leny, who is from Bolivia. The couple married in 2011 and after spending time in both Bolivia and the United States of America, he obtained Bolivian citizenship in 2017. ENDURANCE ENTHUSIAST
Is passionate about endurance sports, like mountaineering. Has also competed in long distance triathlons and duathlons. (Info 2018)

Olympic Winter Games debut in the 15km free technique race in PyeongChang 2018 where he was one of two Bolivians competing.

Made his debut at the 2019 World Ski Championships in Seefeld, where he raced both the free technique sprint (125th) and classic technique 15km race (did not qualify for the main race).

Competed at his second World Championships in Oberstdorf in 2021, finishing 125th in the classic sprint and 116th in the 15k free technique race.
