Husband Guido Visser (Cross-country skiing): Representing Canada, he competed at the Nagano 1998 Olympic Winter Games. Has competed in mountain biking at an international level, including at several World Championships.
Biathlon: Competed at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
Mountain biking: Competed at the 2004, 2008, and 2020 Olympic Games.

Began mountain biking at age 15 but only began skiing in Canada in 2005 after a snowstorm prevented her from continuing her cycling training. Her husband, Guido Visser, a cross-country skier, introduced her to the sport. (quebechebdo.com, Jan 2021)
Her mother recommended she do endurance sports to help with her asthma and in skiing, just like in mountain biking, the sport takes place in nature. She liked it and after the 2005 cycling season, she decided that she wanted to compete at the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games, so she learned to ski in four months. (quebechebdo.com, Jan 2021)
