Despite a cruciate ligament rupture in summer 2013, he was in top form for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. He had the best intermediate time at the Prolog but had a bad crash right after. "This was not the kind of Olympic story that I was dreaming of. I am waiting for eight years for my next chance. Eight years of preparation to re-write my personal Olympic story. Beijing 2022!"
