Very sporty from childhood, both cross-country skiing and athletics. (aftonbladet.se, Feb 2019)

:

Was not a natural talent in cross-country skiing and much better in athletics, but found it more fun to train for cross-country skiing so decided to go to a ski high school in Mora (SWE), since she could also continue with athletics there. Year after year, she focused more on cross-country skiing while in high school. (aftonbladet.se, Feb 2019)

General Interest

FAST GENES
Unusual for a cross-country skier, she has an athletics background as a sprinter and hurdler rather than more endurance-focused long-distance running. Is also considered to be Sweden's fastest super sprinter who has set the women's unofficial world record time of 12.20 seconds in the 100m cross-country super sprint. (svt.se, Oct 2017; sweski.com, Apr 2019)

TO THE VERY TOP FROM OUTSIDE NATIONAL A-TEAM
Scored five podium finishes during the 2018/19 season although was not even on the top national team, and was selected for the 2019 World Championships in Seefeld, as the main gold-medal favourite. As a non-member of the A national team, she was not able to share in the team bonus despite contributing several podium finishes to the score, only to see a team sponsor step in to help her receive her equivalent share.

BEST ROOMIES
Typically shares room when travelling with teammate and good friend Frida Karlsson, one of the sport's rising superstars. As such, they play a key role for each other when there are disappointments. Such as during the 2020/21 season when Karlsson first injured herself doing pull-ups in her hotel room in Dahlqvist's presence and during the 2021 World Championships Oberstdorf, where Karlsson crashed in the 30km race (where she won bronze), injuring her arm, or when Dahlqvist failed to win a medal in the individual sprint. Milestones

OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
Silver medallist in Beijing 2022 in the sprint (free).

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Thanks to stellar results she was selected from outside the "A" national team for Seefeld 2019 as her first title event and one of the top favourites. Unfortunately, she crashed in the final of the individual sprint, finishing sixth, yet took revenge in the team sprint, winning gold with Stina Nilsson.

Repeated the team sprint gold at Oberstdorf 2021, with Jonna Sundling, becoming the only Swede to take home two golds in the sprint relay. In the individual sprint, she failed to qualify for the final and finished ninth.

Won relay bronze medal at the 2014 Junior World Championships at Val di Fiemme, where her best individual result was 11th in the sprint free.

At the U23 World Championships, she won two bronze medals in the individual sprint, at Rasnov 2016 and Soldier Hollow 2017.

WORLD CUP
After 17 podium finishes including five victories in the team sprint, she finally won her first individual sprint World Cup in Ulricehamn in February 2021.
