2009 World Cup in Vancouver-Whistler Park (Sprint - 34th)
April 2018: Diagnosed with mononucleosis, after struggling throughout the season. Was cut from the US national team. “My symptoms weren’t awful, but my body wasn’t interested in racing.” (parkrecord.com, 11 Jan 2019)
While at university: Fractured vertebrae and torn disk freshman year. Torn ligament in her knee junior year, after crashing her bike in Moab, UT. Concussion from a car crash senior year. (teamusa.org, 29 Dec 2020)
2007
Started in eighth grade. Within three years, she won the junior national championships and was named to Team USA her senior year in high school. (teamusa.org, 29 Dec 2020)
Her Olympic interest began after watching the 1996 USA gymnastics team win gold in Atlanta. “I was really into gymnastics at the time, and I was watching at my grandparents' house. It was a huge thing. That was the moment when I thought, ‘Wow, I want to go to the Olympics.’ But even at that age, I knew it wasn’t going to be in gymnastics.”
Participated in a number of sports growing up, but nothing really captivated her. When Salt Lake City hosted the Olympic Winter Games in 2002, her family went to watch cross-country skiing, and with her mother’s encouragement, who had taken up the sport later in life, she finally landed on cross-country skiing when she was 14. "My mom convinced me to try skiing in 8th grade as I found myself with no out of school activities that winter and way too much energy." (Athlete, May 2021)

First recipient of USA Nordic Olympic Women's Inga Award. At the 2019 World Cup Finals in Quebec City, Canada, a group of Team USA women Olympic cross-country skiers - a group called U.S. NOW (U.S. Nordic Olympic Women) - presented her with the Inga Award for her perseverance.
