Has been cross-country skiing for as long as he can remember since his parents got him started in Nordic skiing by dragging him behind them in a sled. (Athlete, May 2021)

Played football (soccer) for six years and initially dreamed of being a professional football player. Didn't really start seeing himself as a skier until he joined the middle school racing team and competed in his first race, but from then on, he loved it. (Athlete, May 2021)
