General Interest

ITALIAN-RUSSIAN COOPERATION
In May 2021, along with his teammate Francesco De Fabiani, he joined the Russian training group of their common national trainer Markus Cramer. The Russian and the Italian Federations signed a contract in order to exchange experiences and new ideas so athletes of both countries are training together during summer and fall 2021. The goal is to have the best possible preparation for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games for the athletes of both countries. Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games sprint (free) silver medallist, finishing behind Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo (NOR).

PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games sprint classic silver medallist finishing behind gold medallist Klaebo.

Five-time World Championships medallist winning one gold (2017 sprint free), two silver (2017 team sprint, 2019 sprint free), and two bronze (2015 and 2019 team sprint).

2013 U23 World sprint champion and 2010 Junior World Championships sprint bronze medallist.

First World Cup podium title was in 2014 in the sprint free (Davos). In the 2020/21 season, he had three sprint victories (Ulricehamm, Dresden, and Davos).
