JAPANESE SNOW SPORTS AMBASSADOR
There is plenty of good quality snow around Japan providing an opportunity for some greater development in all winter sports activities, and she would love to boost the cross-country skiing culture there. “I think Japan has a wonderful nature, and it has great potential to become a famous cross-country skiing country. FAVOURITE RACE
Her favourite race in Japan is the Yubetugenya 80km race on a course where the route is one way. "The funny thing about the race is that you can eat Japanese noodles, soup, sweet beans and sweets at the service stations. You might be full before reaching the finish line." Milestones

Has 12 starts at four Olympic Winter Games (2006, 2010, 2014, 2018), producing four top-10 finishes with her best result of fifth in the 30km mass start classic at Vancouver 2010.

Has 32 World Championships starts (23 individual, nine in team) in 10 consecutive appearances since her debut in 2003 in Val di Fiemme. Her top individual result is seventh in the 10km free at Falun 2015 and she has a total of 11 top-10 finishes.

Was the first woman in Japanese history to be on a long-distance World Cup podium when she won the bronze medal in 30km mass start classic in 2009 (Trondheim). In 2017, she won her second bronze medal at the World Cup in PyeongChang (skiathlon).
