2021: Fractured the fifth metacarpal in his hand during a training session just before the 15km race at the 2021 World Championships in Oberstdorf. Was forced to fly back home and have a break of six weeks. (ski-nordique.net, 1 Mar 2021)

Milestones

With five starts in his Olympic Winter Games debut at PyeongChang 2018, he won three medals -- two silver (team sprint with Alexander Bolshunov, relay) and one individual bronze (15km free).

Made his World Championships debut in 2021 in Oberstdorf.

In seven starts at three Junior World Championships (2014-16), he won medals in six races - one gold (2015 relay), two silver (2015 10km free, 2016 relay), two bronze (2015 skiathlon, 2016 15km free). Didn't win a medal in the sprint (35th).

Four-time medallist at the U23 World Championships, winning one gold (2018 skiathlon), one silver (2018 15km classic), and two bronze (2017 15km free and skiathlon).

His last victory was at the final climb of the Tour de Ski in Val di Fiemme in January 2021. Finished third in the overall ranking of the 2021 Tour de Ski 2021.
