Started first with Alpine skiing for seven years following the example of his three sisters, learning to ski in front of the house on the slope that they used as their toboggan run, before switching to cross-country skiing. (sportricolore.fr, 22 Jul 2020; nordicmag.info, 26 Jul 2020)
He likes endurance sports, yet he is built like a rugby player. He did all kinds of sports like Alpine skiing, cycling and judo, but none of those sports was so easy and natural for him, like cross-country skiing. Preferring cross-country skiing to Alpine skiing (because there were no breaks), the older he got the more he appreciated cross-country skiing and decided to focus on it from age 12.
