Milestones

A young talent who blossomed late to celebrate the world championships of his career at Oberstdorf 2021.

OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
Debuted at PyeongChang 2018 where he won a bronze medal in skiathlon.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Three-time world champion (50km in 2019, 15km and relay in 2021) and skiathlon bronze medallist in 2021 (fourth in the 50km missing the podium by 0.4 seconds). In the 50km in 2019, he broke away early and cruised to the gold medal, his very first win at the international level.

Gained the title of junior world champion in the 10km at Malles 2008 and went on to win a pair of bronze medals in 2009 (20km, relay).

WORLD CUP
Took his first individual World Cup podium in February 2016 (third in the skiathlon in Lahti). Won his first World Cup race at the Ruka Triple pursuit race in 2019, repeating the feat in 2020. Also has two World Cup relay victories.

Finished third in the distance World Cup standings in 2018, when he was sixth in the overall World Cup after finishing fifth in the Tour de Ski that season.
