General Interest

SPEED AND STRENGTH
He is faster than any other Finn in a 50m flying start and for his size, pretty tough on the finish line. "I consider myself reasonably strong for such a small man [170cm]. My greatest strength is body control." (iltalehti.fi, 5 Feb 2018)

TRIO OF SKIING BROTHERS
While he is known best all over the country, his brother Lassi is on his way to fame. But it may be the youngest brother, Leevi, who will be the most famous of the trio. Father Tomi, "I can't compare their achievements, and I can't say which of the three would have been the most talented at the age of 15." (www.aamulehti.fi, 12 Mar 2018)

SKIING COUPLE
Lives together with partner and national team skier Johanna Matintalo in Rovaniemi. They met during their time on the junior national team and hail from the same region in Southern Finland. (il.fi, Dec 2020)

LOOKING FOR SNOW
Originally from Southern Finland, went to high school in the middle of the country in Jyvaskyla, and after serving in the military, followed his coach Ville Oksanen to the north to Rovaniemi where snow conditions are better. Ville Oksanen is also the head coach of the women's national team. (il.fi, Dec 2020)
