General Interest

LAHTI WORLD CUP INCIDENT
Was involved in a hotly debated scene at the finish of the men's World Cup relay in Lahti in January 2021, where his opponent from the Russian team, Alexander Bolshunov, attempted to pass him at the start of the finish stretch but failed to do so, and then tackled him after the finish line out of frustration, leading the Russian team's disqualification. At one point, was forced to make his Instagram account private after being bombarded by Russian fans who blamed him for a clash. (rt.com, 29 Jan 2021)

SPRINT SKIER WITH A STRONG FINISH
Considers himself a sprint skier due to his ability to finish strong in the final stretch, but also skis shorter distance races to develop enough endurance. Enjoys skiing the final leg in relays. (seura.fi, Feb 2021)
