Weightlifting: Took up the sport after watching Kendrick Farris (USA) attempt to set a world record at her university, eventually competing for Team USA. Participated in two Universiades, with a seventh-place finish in 2017 in the 75kg division.

Recruited into the sport in 2018 after participating in the reality show "Scouting Camp: The Next Olympic Hopeful" - which she didn't know at the time was a television show, not just a training camp. “I went to the camp, did my best and I didn’t win...I wasn’t even a runner-up, but the bobsleigh coaches liked me anyway and invited me to come to the Rookie Push Championships in Lake Placid.” She won the rookie event and went onto win the national push championships.
