Gymnastics: Started the sport at age eight and reached Level 10 status until leaving the sport for athletics when she reached high school and had suffered too many injuries on the mat.

Athletics: While attending the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV), she qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 4x100m relay in 2017, 2018, and 2021. Won the 4x400m relay at the Mountain West Conference championships in 2017 and finished second in both the 4x100m and 4x400m relay the following year. Still holds the UNLV outdoor record in the 4x100m relay.

2021 World Cup in Innsbruck (Two-woman - 5th)

During her gymnastics career, she pulled her hamstring and then broke her toe, which sidelined her for consecutive seasons. She also struggled with chronic knee pain from the pounding on the mats.

Her university athletics coach Larry Wade encouraged her to take up bobsleigh, and she was also recruited to attend a virtual combine by a Team USA bobsledder and a member of the coaching staff. (@Coachlarrywade Instagram, 17 Jan 2022; teamusa.org, 17 Jan 2022)
