Korean head coach Lee Yong. "He's put in a lot of effort that goes beyond your imagination. The word 'best' isn't enough. We were a Korean bobsled with no sled and no staff, but he persuaded the sponsors, set up a dedicated team, and even made a system that could take care of each athlete." Milestones

OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
In the four-man, he tied with the German team piloted by Nico Walther with a time of 3:16.38, the only silver-medal draw in Olympic history, and only the second tie in the four-man after France and Great Britain both won bronze medals at the Nagano 1998 Olympic Winter Games.

His Olympic silver medal is the first medal won by Korea - or any Asian nation - in the sport.

At the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, he will be the oldest bobsleigh athlete to compete for the Republic of Korea, surpassing Gang Gwang-Bae who participated in 2010 at age 36 years, 213 days.

WORLD CUP
In the 2015/16 season, won the overall season standings in the two-man event, a first for any Asian or Korean bobsledder.

In eight World Cup races, he had five podium appearances in the discipline. The following season, he finished third in the rankings.

His victory in the two-man in the 2016 World Cup in Whistler is the first win by any Korean or Asian athlete.
