Father Mario Huys (Triathlon): Born in Belgium, competed in 42 Ironman events, finishing 12th at the World Championships in 1985 and 16th in 1990. In 1993, set the then-world record for two-consecutive Ironman races at 19:54.48. He also tried out bobsleigh - among other sports - and is now a fitness trainer and coach.
Half sister Tabea Huys (Triathlon): Finished 17th in the junior women's division at the 2021 Europe Triathlon Sprint and Relay Championships.
Athletics: Won more than 22 regional titles in throwing events with BSV Brixlegg. In 2014, won two Austrian Championships in hammer throw at the U18 and M20 levels.
