Grew up in a cross-country family. As a child he used to go downhill but immediately liked cross-country skiing and at age 13, his ski club bought air rifles. In high school he enrolled in the sports school in Mals where he started biathlon seriously.
Compete at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. "Me and Didier Bionaz are only 21 years old, the Olympic Games would be an important crossing point for our careers because we are very young. If we manage to go to the Olympic Games it will be an extra experience, otherwise, we will have other opportunities." (biathlonazzurro.it, 6 Aug 2021)
“Doro [Wierer] is like a mother to us because she takes good care of us. For example, when we ride bikes together, she tells us to go downhill slowly and be careful not to injure ourselves. All of them taught us a lot. For example, being patient. I think we are a great training group." (sportnews.bz, 18 Jul 2021)
His World Cup debut in March 2020, finishing 27th in the Nove Mesto sprint and securing his first World Cup points. “It was great to meet all of my idols. I will never forget that Johannes Thingnes Boe (NOR) and Quentin Fillon Maillet (FRA) congratulated me on my result in the mixed zone." (sportnews.bz, 18 Jul 2021)
Biathlete Lukas Hofer (ITA), two-time Olympic bronze medallist and four-time World Championship medallist. "We could not help but be very happy for him. He has helped us a lot since we first met him in the team. Luki was our mentor. He deserves everything he has collected this year because he has worked so hard. Didier and I have the honour of seeing such a champion at work, he has taught us so much." (fondoitalia.it, 2 Apr 2021)
His teammate Didier Bionaz (ITA). "He became like a brother to me, an older brother even if only for a few months! We have a great time together, we are always in the room together, we laugh and joke. Having such a friend is very important to me because I know that I can always count on him." (coast2coastblog.it, 28 Nov 2020)
"I'm still very young but I really want to do it." (sanmartino.com, 2021)
