2014
She started cross-country skiing in middle school in 2002. As an undergraduate student at Wellesley College, she ran cross-country and track and started the Wellesley Ski Team. After graduating in 2010, she spent a year at the University of New Hampshire, where she competed in Division I cross-country, outdoor track, and cross-country skiing. Began with biathlon in 2012/13 when she met a famous biathlon coach through her ski team and focused on biathlon in 2013/14 season.
“I was learning fast, and that was exciting.” Mastering rifle shooting required a completely different mindset than her other sports. (downeast.com, Jan 2021)
"If I can pair the shooting I did this year with the skiing I did last year, I can be one of the top athletes in the world." (teamusa.org, 7 Dec 2020)
After placing a personal best sixth in the individual in Pokljuka World Cup in 2020: "I'm extremely happy to have met one of my career goals of hitting 20/20. I told my coach Armin (Auchentaller) this morning that I was going to do it today and he said, 'Yes you will,' -- so we agreed on the plan. It's so important to have the right attitude and confidence for shooting and I found that today." (teamusa.org, 24 Jan 2020)
“Sometimes you hit your target, sometimes you don’t. It forces you to focus on how you’re executing your work and not the outcome.” (downeast.com, Jan 2021)
