Brother Scott Gow (Biathlon): PyeongChang 2018 Olympian, finishing 11th in the relay alongside Christian, and 14th in the individual. World Championship relay bronze medallist in 2016 (with Christian), having competed in seven championships. Youth World Championship relay silver medallist in 2009.

Partner Emma Lunder (Biathlon): PyeongChang 2018 Olympian, finishing 10th in the relay. Four World Championship appearances, competing alongside Gow in the mixed relays, finishing eighth three times. Six top-10 World Cup individual finishes.

Introduced to biathlon at age eight and began competing at age nine, joining the Rocky Mountain Racers at age 11. He and his older brother Scott signed up for biathlon on the same day but independent of each other. (olympic.ca, 2021)

First learned about biathlon during a summer camp at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, designed to introduce children to different Olympic winter sports. "I had never heard of biathlon before being at the camp, but the day that we got to try it out I was absolutely hooked." (aclaro.com, 1 Feb 2015)

Emphasis on mental training, with the intention of becoming one of the strongest teams from a mental perspective. "That work has paid off big time. Competing at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. "It is an incredible feeling to be named to the Canadian Olympic team. I have dreamed of this day since I started in the sport back in 2002 and to have finally made it is an indescribable feeling.
