Athletics: Finished 112th in the U20 division at the 2015 World Cross Country Championships in Guiyang (second last finisher). National-level athlete, with two wins and four podiums in the steeplechase.

Started cross-country skiing when he began walking. Switched to biathlon in 2008 at age 12. "I was registered with the cross-country ski club at Mont Orford. It was a half-hour drive from our place. My parents thought it was too far away and there was a biathlon club five minutes from our house. This is how I started." (ici.radio-canada.ca, 26 Sep 2020)
