General Interest

SISTER GOLD
She and her sister Hanna became the first siblings representing Sweden to win a gold medal in the same event at the Olympic Winter Games since 2006 when the Jonsson brothers (Jorgen and Kenny) and the Sedin twin-brothers (Daniel and Henrik) clinched the gold medal in the men's ice hockey competition.

"I really felt before today that I didn't want to be the only one coming home with a medal. I really wanted to share it with someone else and now I got to ski over the finish line and deliver a gold for us - and this is really a team effort. I've been really happy with my own medals so far, but to be able to share this with Hanna and the rest of the team, it's unbeatable." (Info 2022, 16 Feb 2022)

SIBLING RIVALRY
"We are very close and spend a lot of time together. We also train together a lot, nearly every day of the year. But, of course, we are both very competitive, so we compete in many things when we can. We know each other’s sporting results and of course, sometimes compare them, but it’s more like a friendly competition." (Biathlon World Magazine, Issue 58)

SIBLING COMPARISON
Often compared to her sister Hanna. "We have been going to the same school since kindergarten and primary school. We have had the same teacher and coach. It is not so strange that we are compared with each other. I also compare myself with Hanna. If I have run a test, I want to know what Hanna ran on when she was my age. We are siblings and have quarrelled about everything possible. Maybe just because we are both ambitious people, we always want to get better. We want to be the best. I think it has given a lot to us, too." (kuriren.nu, Mar 2018)

PARENTAL SUPPORT
Living in northern Sweden, her parents would often drive 10-12 hours on the weekend so the sisters could compete in races. (Biathlon World Magazine, Issue 58)

BAKING
Enjoys baking, having learnt from both her grandmothers. I find it very interesting to do more advanced kinds of baking. I like it a bit more complicated when you have to do more creative things. The main goal is not to bake as much as possible, but every time I bake, I like to create something special. It might be a cool pattern on a cake or something like macarons. Although one of my favourite things is actually quite simple. It’s our Swedish mud cake. It’s super simple but very tasty." (Biathlon World Magazine, Issue 58)

CHILDHOOD
Grew up in the northern Swedish province of Norrbotten. When she was a child the family moved from her birthplace Kiruna to Boden, then to Svensbyn in the municipality of Pitea. Attended the Biathlon Sports Gymnasium in Solleftea from 2015-2019.
