2013
Began cross-country skiing, but switched to biathlon in 2005, after seeing his brother Johan practice the sport. (svt.se, 11 Jul 2013)
"It was ... Johan who did not enter the high school for cross-country skiing but for biathlon, and suddenly it was biathlon that mattered in the family. I chose myself, and it was biathlon and I'm happy with that." (www.arbetarbladet.se, 17 Aug 2015)
Training in times of COVID-19: "I have been home much more. Normally we have training camps about once a month - now it has been mainly at home in Oestersund. It has worked very well, and you realize that everything actually exists to get good training here. We have good courses, a complete biathlon facility, access to a gym and opportunities for indoor training, when the weather does not really cooperate. In addition, the National Winter Sports Center, NVC, is here, with which we collaborate on fitness tests and the like. We also have a very good organization that offers, among other things, extra coaching resources for shooting on an individual level, which is extremely important. I have probably increased my fitness level and am now at up to 850 training hours per year. To the 70-90 hours of strength training. And around 20,000 shots!" Winning relay gold at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, after his partner Anna Magnusson (SWE) won silver in the women's relay. "It's completely sick. It's cool to experience this together. It has been a tough season for both of us. To then be able to finish the Olympics like this, it boosts for the future." (A-laget, 2019)
