Cousin Ziva Klemencic (Biathlon): Represented Slovenia at the 2021 World Championships, with two top-20 relay results alongside Polona. Competed at the past five Youth/Junior World Championships and has three top-seven finishes in youth relays. Made her IBU Cup debut in 2019 and World Cup in March 2021.
Cross-country skiing: Competed in junior races until 2013.

January 2021: Quarantined for 14 days after several of her teammates contracted COVID-19.
Impressed by her cousin, she started cross-country skiing in 2008 before switching to biathlon in 2013.
Compete at the Olympic Winter Games.
