Husband Ilya Chernousov (cross-country skiing): Sochi 2014 Olympic bronze medallist for Russian Federation (50km Mass Start Free). Competed at four World Championships, winning bronze in 2011 (30km pursuit). Has three World Cup victories and has two Swiss national titles (both 2015). Switched nationalities to Switzerland in 2020.

Sister Elisa Gasparin (Biathlon): Two-time Olympian (2014, 2018), with two individual top-10 finishes. Nine World Championship appearances with a best finish of 13th (2015 sprint). Four World Cup podiums (all relays), sharing with both sisters in the women's relay.

Sister Aita Gasparin (Biathlon): Two-time Olympian (2014, 2018), competing in three races. Seven World Championship appearances with two top-10 individual finishes (both 2020). Three World Cup relay podiums, shared with both sisters.

Cross-country skiing: Competed at the 2013 World Championships in Val di Fiemme finishing 31st in the 10km Free. Participated in a handful of World Cup races and national championships. Two-time medallist at the World Military Championships (gold 2014, silver 2017). Two Junior World Championship appearances (2002, 2003) and the 2005 Winter Universiade.

2008: Severely bruised hip after a quad-bike accident, missing two weeks.

2005: Pyelitis (inflammation of the renal pelvis) after her first World Cup in November 2005. Returned to the IBU Cup in January 2006.

Started alpine skiing at age two, but was recommended to do cross-country skiing due to an orthopedic problem. Focused on cross-country throughout primary school. While studying in Norway she learned about biathlon, which was relatively unknown in Switzerland, switching to the sport in 2004.

Milestones

Three-time Olympian, becoming the first female biathlete to compete at an Olympic Winter Games at Vancouver 2010. Only Swiss biathlete to win an Olympic medal after finishing second in the individual at Sochi 2014.

Twelve World Championship appearances, with two individual top-10 finishes (both in individual). Competed in the relay with both sisters five times (first in 2013), including the past four.

Finished the 2013/14 World Cup season a career-high 11th, including sixth in the sprint, after two race wins. First World Cup win was in December 2013 at the Hochfilzen sprint, finishing 1.2 seconds ahead of Veronika Vitkova (CZE), with her second win a week later in Annecy. Most recent podium was in March 2020, finishing second in the Kontiolahti pursuit.

In December 2012, alongside sisters Elisa and Aita, she was part of the first set of three siblings to compete in a World Cup relay race together, finishing 16th in Hochfilzen. The trio has since had three podium finishes (all in 2019/20).
