Cross-country skiing: PyeongChang 2018 Olympian finishing 62nd in the 15km Free, and competed at the 2017 World Championships in Lahti. Finished in the top-10 (15km F) at the 2017 National Championships.

Competed in cross-country skiing in his native Eifel mountains during the winter. In the summer of 2005, he completed his first training camp with a weapon and started competing in biathlon in 2006.
As biathlon began to grow in Belgium during the early 2000s, the national association encouraged young athletes to become involved, with Langer deciding to switch.
Compete in an individual and relay biathlon race at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
When he started his studies in chemistry he moved to Clausthal-Zellerfeld (GER), which allowed him to continue his training in conjunction with attending university. After completing his studies, he moved his training location to the German biathlon base in Todtnau in the Black Forest.
