His parents put him on skis at age three. They were both coaches of the Zarinskaya Children's and Youth Sports School. He later tried biathlon at age 13 by himself.

Memorable:

Being selected for his first World Cup race in November 2021. "I was satisfied with my selection races and imagined a place in the World Cup possible. Of course, I'm very happy to have achieved this first goal, but objectively I'm happier when I eat pizza with [teammate] Karim Khalili." (ski-nordique.net, 17 Nov 2021)

SLOW START
After taking up biathlon he became bored with the shooting sessions and his slow progress. He wanted to return to cross-country skiing but was asked to help out the Altai Territory team at the Siberian championship. The team went to the Russian championship, where he finished second and became a member of the national youth team.

JOKER
Russian press considered him the new main joker of the national team.

SCHOOL
Attended the Sports School of the Olympic Reserve in Biathlon (State Autonomous Institution of the Novosibirsk Region) and Altai School of Olympic Reserve (Regional State Budgetary Professional Educational Institution).

Milestones

Won bronze in his first two World Cup relay races in his debut season (2021/22).

Won the Arber IBU Cup mixed relay in January 2021.

Achieved two podiums and a fourth in his first international races at the Pokljuka IBU Junior Cup in 2019.

Relay gold medallist at the 2020 Junior World Championships in Lenzerheide, despite poor shooting.
