Started with cross-country skiing at school, participating in local competitions. Became interested in biathlon after watching the performances of Russian biathletes on television. Joined the biathlon training centre in Ufa in 2011. (24smi.org, 2021)
His only World Cup podium, a second-place finish at the Oestersund mass start in March 2021, on his 27th birthday.
