TEMPORARY DOPING BAN
Tested positive for meldonium in February 2016 at the Osrblie IBU Cup, after the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) banned the substance on 1 January 2016. Milestones

Won bronze in the mixed relay, the pursuit and the men's relay at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. Finished 11th in the 20km individual event.

World Championship relay bronze medallist in 2021 (Pokljuka). Entering the final leg third, Latypov maintained the Russian's position by passing Anton Dudchenko (UKR) while being passed by Sebastian Samuelsson (SWE), while holding off Emilien Jacquelin (FRA).

Finished a career-high 18th during the 2020/21 World Cup, earning his first individual podium (Oestersund mass start) and top-10 that season. Has one relay victory, defeating Norway by 0.7 seconds in the Oberhof mixed relay in January 2021. Four relay podiums, with another seven fourth-place finishes.

European Championship mixed relay silver medallist in 2020 (Minsk), adding to his European junior gold (pursuit 2015), and two silver medals (sprint 2015, relay 2014).

Best male biathlete, alongside Nikita Porshnev (RUS), at the 2019 Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk with a gold (sprint), silver (individual) and bronze medal (pursuit).
