Wife Kertu Saarepuu (Cross-country skiing): International-junior skier. Competed at the 2005 European Youth Olympic Festival, 2007 Junior World Championships and Scandinavian Cup. Retired in 2009 due to heart problems.

Cross-country skiing: Two-time Olympian (2014, 2018), finishing 10th in the 2014 relay and 30th in the 2018 sprint. Four consecutive World Championship appearances from 2013-19, achieving an individual best of 34th in 2017 (15km classic). World Cup debut in 2009, achieving a career-best 15th in November 2017 (Ruka sprint).

Triathlon, duathlon: Multiple runner-up finishes in his age group at the Estonian championships.
