Has two IBU Cup wins and seven podiums, and one relay World Cup third-place finish. Dual silver medallist at the 2011 European Championships in Ridnaun. Last race in January 2019.

Sister Gilonne Guigonnat (Biathlon): Lillehammer 2016 Youth Olympian, finishing fourth in the relay and eighth in the sprint. European Championship silver medallist in sprint (2019). Competed in the IBU Cup since the 2019/20 season.

Cruciate ligament rupture while downhill skiing, spending three months in crutches with a splint. Could not compete in the cross-country classic style for several months, so tried to qualify in biathlon.

Started with alpine skiing, switching to cross-country skiing at age 10. Began biathlon at age 15 at Les Brasses Ski Resort in Bogeve, France. (Info 2018)

General Interest

CHILDHOOD
Grew up in Juvigny, the smallest village of the agglomeration Annemasse, just 200m away from the Swiss border.

PARTNER
First meeting in high school, has been in a relationship with French biathlete Enora Latuilliere since 2010. They previously lived in Les Contamines-Montjoie, sharing an apartment with cross-country skier Baptiste Gros (FRA).

OCCUPATION
Until 2018, he worked part of the year at his father's tree cutting business, before being accepted for the military ski team by the army. (ledauphine.com, 19 Jan 2018)

POST-CAREER PLANS
Hopes to still be competing at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games. Considering becoming a farmer like his grandparents. "When I was young, I actually thought about becoming a farmer. But this dream disappeared as I grew up. I think that this childhood dream may come back. I would be really happy to be closer to the earth and maybe to grow some vegetables like real farmers do. Milestones

Oldest debutant on the French biathlon team at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games (26 years 224 days).

Single mixed relay World Champion with Julia Simon in 2021 (Pokljuka), finishing 2.8 seconds ahead of Norwegians Johannes Thingnes Boe and Tiril Eckoff. Silver medallist in the 2019 mass start, finished 0.5 seconds ahead of bronze medallist Julian Eberhard (AUT).

Five individual World Cup podium finishes (2x2nd, 3x3rd), with Johannes Thingnes Boe (NOR) ahead of him each time. Career-high finish of 11th in 2018/19, including top-five in the sprint after a second, third and fourth-place finish in sprint races that season.

Finished top-five in the IBU Cup three times, including second overall in 2014/15 and third in 2016/17. Twenty-two total podium finishes in the IBU Cup, with seven victories (three in relays).

European Championship bronze medallist in 2015 (sprint).

Relay bronze medallist at the 2012 Junior World Championships in Kontiolahti, after Russian Federation was disqualified.
