Partner Celia Aymonier (Biathlon): PyeongChang 2018 Olympian and competed at four consecutive World Championships (2016-2020), winning a bronze medal with the French relay team at the 2017 championships in Hochfilzen. Five World Cup seasons, with three wins and nine podium finishes (all relays). Retired in March 2020.

Brother Baptiste Desthieux (Biathlon): Competed in the IBU Cup with a best result of fifth at the 2006 Ridnaun relay (best individual result 10th). Previously coached the French women's B team.

Brother Etienne Desthieux (Biathlon): National-level biathlete.

Participated in cross-country skiing and judo, but influenced by his older brother Baptiste, decided at age 15 to focus on skiing. Eventually, the shooting aspect of biathlon appealed to him most. (biathlon-news.fr, 18 Apr 2011; sans-filtre.fr, 18 Mar 2018)

Milestones

Three-time Olympian. Won silver in the men's relay at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. Became the third-youngest French male biathlete to win gold after victory in the mixed relay at PyeongChang 2018 (26 years 79 days).

Seven consecutive World Championships appearances (2013-2021), winning relay gold (2020) and silver (2017). Added an individual silver medal in 2021 (Pokljuka), finishing 11.2 seconds behind Martin Ponsiluoma (SWE) and 1.7 seconds ahead of teammate Emilien Jacquelin (FRA) in the sprint.

Finished in the World Cup top-10 the past four seasons, with a career-best fourth in 2018/19. Recorded his first individual podium finish that season, a second in the Soldier Hollow sprint and a third in the pursuit the following day. Won his first individual race in March 2021, edging out Sebastian Samuelsson (SWE) by 2.4 seconds in the Nove Mesto sprint. Added another victory in the last race of the season, winning the Oestersund mass start.

European Championships silver medallist as part of the mixed relay team in 2011 (Ridnaun). Won another silver in the junior individual at the same championship.

Four-time Youth/Junior World Championship medallist, winning individual gold in 2011 (Nove Mesto), sprint bronze in 2012 (Kontiolahti), and relay silver (2010) and bronze (2012).
