General Interest

FRIENDSHIP WITH DORIN HABERT
Developed a close friendship with French national teammate Marie Dorin Habert, who described Bescond as, "Anais the menace, the bulldozer of the France team. She's a good friend and a driving force behind the team." (francetvinfo.fr, Feb 2018)

The pair were friends for 15 years and even had a one-two finish at the 2016 World Championships in Oslo. After Dorin Habert retired in March 2018, Bescond expressed her disappointment in their parting. "It's a little sad. Marie has always been on my horizon for fifteen years. She is a friend whom I no longer see. This creates a void. I miss her." (sport24.lefigaro.fr, Dec 2018)

COVID-19
At the conclusion of the 2019/20 season, she decided to travel with her Canadian partner (a technician) to Alberta to lock down together. She used the additional time to further rehabilitate her left knee which was injured in the previous summer. (nordicmag.info, 3 May 2020)

CHILDHOOD
Born in Normandy, the family moved in 1992 to Morbier in the Jura Region, after the family doctor advised them to relocate, as her older brother suffered from asthma, aggravated by Normandy's humid climate. The region is a centre of biathlon in France. (actu.fr, 12 Feb 2020)
