Husband Maciej Starega (Cross-country-skiing): Two-time Polish Olympian (2014-18), with three top-15 team finishes. Six World Championship appearances from 2011-21, with a best finish of eighth in the sprint free in 2017. Competed at the World Cup since 2010 and has eight top-10 results (all in sprint events). Won 20 national titles in Poland.
Sister Patrycja Hojnisz (Biathlon): Three European Championship appearances (2010-11, 2013), with a best result of seventh in the 2010 relay alongside Monika. Competed at the IBU Cup from 2010-16, with three World Cup races in that period. World junior representative in 2008.
