January 2021: Tested positive for COVID-19 at the World Cup in Oberhof. Had to be quarantined in her hotel alongside her Bulgarian teammates and technical officials. Returned to competition in end-January at the 2021 European Championships in Duszniki Zdroj.

Started biathlon in 2007 on the recommendation of a doctor, who advised her to take up a sport because of a bone problem.
Chose biathlon as it was one of the more popular sports in her hometown Troyan. Liked the variety of skiing and shooting and in the summer riding roller skis.(viasport.bg, 7 Jun 2017)
