2017 World Cup in PyeongChang (Sprint - 101st, Relay - 10th)
March 2019: Underwent second surgery in his left knee, doing osteochondral allograft.
January 2019: After being ill for six weeks from an abscess inside his tonsils, he had to undergo a tonsillectomy. Missed the rest of the season after Christmas.
2010: Surgery to remove a loose piece of cartilage in his knee and a procedure called microfracture to repair the spot where the piece had broken off.
2007: Eating disorder at the age of 15 when his father passed away unexpectedly. After being hospitalized and undergoing months of unsuccessful therapy, he underwent residential treatment at the Eating Disorder Center at Rogers Memorial Hospital.
2016, 2020 (World Cup)
During his school days he played soccer and was an active wrestler and cross-country runner. In 2008 he started cross-country skiing, which he intensified during his studies. Took up biathlon in 2015.
After taking part in a biathlon screening course in Lake Placid in 2014, he decided a year later to concentrate entirely on biathlon and was accepted into the US Biathlon development team in 2016.
