His father and siblings were involved in the sport. Her sister was on the cross country ski team at her high school and a couple of her teammates were involved in the local biathlon club. She is most proud of the last relay of the 2017/18 season in Oslo: “We only finished seventh on the day, but it was the best team performance from all of us as a group. Milestones

Appearances at the 2014 and 2018 Olympic Winter Games but had no top-40 result individually. His best was sixth in the relay at PyeongChang 2018.

Made his World Championships debut in 2011. Individually he has placed eighth in the individual in 2020 (Antholz). Has five top-10 finishes in men's relay and two in mixed relays.

Became a regular in the World Cup in the 2010/11 season and collected his first points in the first race of the season (35th in individual in Oestersund). Individually he had his best result as 16th in the sprint in February 2015 (Nove Mesto). He has added a couple of top-10 rankings in relays. Season 2014/15 was his best completed with a rank of 40th in the total score.

Medaled at North American Junior Championships in 2009 (gold in sprint and mixed relay, silver in individual) and in summer biathlon in 2008 (gold in individual and pursuit, silver in sprint). Competed in Youth / Junior World Championships from 2007-10 winning bronze in pursuit in 2008 and achieving five top-10 placings.
