Studied civil engineering (product development and production) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, before suspending her studies and moving to Oslo in 2016 together with her fiancee.

Brother Stian Eckhoff (Biathlon): Torino 2006 Olympian (fifth in the relay) and 2005 World relay champion. Member of the national team 1999-2009, with two individual World Cup victories (both sprint) and six in the relay. Two-time 2008 European Championships silver medallist in Nove Mesto. Norwegian women's national coach from 2014-18.
Sister Kaja Eckhoff (Biathlon): Winter Youth World Championship gold medallist, winning the individual in 2002 (Ridnaun). Competed in the IBU Cup over three seasons, with three top-10 finishes.
Fiance Aanund Lid Byggland (Cross-country skiing): Competed at the 2009 Junior World Championships (fourth in sprint), and the 2013 U23 World Championships (sixth in sprint). 2013 Norwegian Championships sprint silver medallist.
