Sister Anna Hiidensalo (Biathlon, Cross-country skiing): Represented Finland at the 2014 European Championships Biathlon in Nove Mesto na Morave, finishing 10th in the relay. Competed two seasons in the IBU Cup with a top finish of 34th. Competed at five cross-country skiing National Championships from 2009-14, collecting two top-25 finishes (sprint). Had three top-10 sprint finishes in Finnish FIS races.
Cross-country skiing: National relay champion in 2012 and 2017, with two-10 individual finishes including a fifth in the 2019 sprint. Competed in two World Cup sprint races in Lahti (2016, 2019). Finished second in a FIS race in Hakunila (FIN) in 2016.
Orienteering: Relay silver medallist at the Finnish Youth Championships.
Shooting: Participated in the Finnish Championships.
2012 IBU Cup in Idre (Sprint - 66th, 51st)
2013 World Cup in Oestersund (Individual - 29th, Sprint - DNS)
Late 2017: Suffered from headaches.
December 2014: Concussion and face injury after falling on the downhill at the Pokljuka World Cup. Missed two World Cup stages, returning in late January 2015 in Antholz.

Finishing 18th in the sprint at the Hochfilzen World Cup in December 2020, his best individual World Cup result.
