Partner Simon Schempp (Biathlon): Three-time Olympic medallist from three appearances (2010-18), winning two silver (2014 relay, 2018 mass start) and a bronze (2018 relay). Four World Championship titles, and four minor medals, including a mixed relay silver in 2016 with Preuss. Fourteen total World Cup victories, including winning the Canmore mixed relay in February 2016 with Preuss.

December 2021: Foot injury after falling down the stairs. Missed several World Cup stages in January prior to the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. Also contracted COVID-19 during this period

Mid 2019: Lung and sinuses disease hospitalised her for two weeks.

February 2017: Nasal surgery.

January 2017: Gastrointestinal infection. Missed the last four World Cup tournaments and the World Championships in Hochfilzen.

December 2015: Hairline fracture in her coccyx at the World Cup in Ostersund. Returned early February at the Canmore World Cup.

September 2015: Sliced her thumb with a knife while cutting an avocado. Unable to practise shooting for five weeks.

Milestones

OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
Three-time Olympian. Won bronze in the relay at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. Became the youngest German biathlete to compete at Sochi 2014 (19 years 335 days).

Most successful biathlete at the Youth Olympic Games, winning three gold and one silver, all at the inaugural Games in 2012. Became the first winner of the sprint, mixed relay, and cross-country biathlon mixed relay, where she partnered with Maximilian Janke, and cross-country skiers Victoria Carl and Christian Stiebritz.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Six World Championship medals in five appearances, winning a medal in every women's relay contested, including a one-minute victory in 2015 (Kontiolahti), her only championship gold. Also won her only individual medal in 2015 (silver mass start).

Silver medal at the 2021 World Championship relay. Starting in the fifth position, Preuss skied the anchor leg, making up 34.6 seconds on leaders Norway, and passed three skiers to finish 0.4 seconds ahead of Olena Pidhrushna (UKR).

Dual medallist at the 2013 Junior World Championships in Obertilliach, winning relay gold and individual bronze. European Championships gold (relay) and silver (pursuit) a month later.

WORLD CUP
Mass start small Crystal Globe winner in 2014/15, finishing eight points clear of Valj Semerenko (UKR), and claiming her first World Cup podium at the Ruhpolding mass start (2nd). Finished three points behind mass start globe winner Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (NOR) in 2020/21, after one podium in Oestersund (3rd).

Only one individual World Cup win, defeating Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (NOR) by 0.2 seconds at the Ruhpolding mass start in January 2019, as well as eight wins in the relays.
