Brother Alexander Leitner (Nordic Combined): Competes at a national-junior level. Participated in two Austrian-based Alpen Cup events in 2020.
Partner Anna-Maria Schreder (Biathlon): Competed at four successive Youth/Junior World Championships (2016-19). Began racing at the IBU Cup in 2019/20.

January 2017: Right index finger surgery due to severe inflammation. Missed the remainder of the season, including his home World Championships in Hochfilzen.
