March 2020: Problems with shins and periosteum constantly cramping up for eight years. Finished the World Cup season early after finishing 88th in Kontiolahti. Spent extended offseason recovering.

May 2018: Surgery on left shoulder joint, after a fall in the IBU Cup in 2015. Required six months recovery.

Started skiing at the Mahiliou State School in 2007 before taking up biathlon in 2008.

"This year (2020), a new specialist from Austria, Reinhard Goesweiner, who was in charge of the Austrian team for a long time, joined our team. Therefore, we didn’t work in the same way we used to. He reviewed the way we had performed in previous seasons, studied each athlete’s work individually, the pros and cons, and found an approach for each one of us." (Biathlon World Magazine, Issue 57)

General Interest

DONATION
After winning the U25 Crystal Globe in 2020/21, she donated her award to the Museum of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus. "I am very pleased to give this globe to the museum of the NOC of Belarus. Maybe for some of the younger visitors, it will be a motivation to do sports or a goal to conquer new heights. Everything is possible. With my own example, I want to show that we should not stop at failures, but go on, go forward, overcoming obstacles." (noc.by, 9 Apr 2021)

YOUTH
Born in Kazakhstan, she moved to Belarus with her family at age three. Initially, she learned piano and choreography attending an art school. Later, she entered the Mahiliou State School of Olympic Reserve.

PARTNER
Dating Russian biathlete Kirill Streltsov, who alternates competing in IBU and World Cup. Won four Youth/Junior World Championship gold medals (three in relay) and has three individual IBU Cup podiums, and finished the 2019/20 season third overall.

Milestones

Youngest Belrusian biathlete to win an Olympic gold medal (22 years 48 days), after winning the relay at PyeongChang 2018. Youngest female biathlete on the Olympic team.

Competed at three World consecutive World Championships (2019-2021), with one top-10 placing. Finished the 2021 relay fourth, almost 20 seconds behind bronze medallist Ukraine, but shot perfectly during her leg. Individually, she has only finished in the top-15 twice.

Won the newly-created U25 Crystal Globe after finishing seventh during the 2020/21 World Cup season. Had her first four top-10 finishes during the season opener in Kontiolahti, before her first win (and podium) in the Hochfilzen sprint. Had four more podium finishes (all second) that season.

European Championship bronze medallist in the 2019 mixed relay, finishing fourth in 2020 (Minsk).

Youth World Championship gold relay medallist in 2015 (Minsk), with a best individual finish of fourth in the sprint. Competed at five Youth/Junior World Championships.
