When she was younger, she competed in a variety of sports, including netball, soccer, rugby, and horse riding. "I competed at South Island level in netball and horse riding, regional teams for soccer. But you reach a point where you've got to focus on one thing. December 2021: Tested positive for COVID-19 while at her base in Italy and went into self-isolation that ended 23 December, missing back-to-back giant slalom races in Courchevel. Crashed out of the Lienz giant slalom upon her return (28 December 2021). "I guess my celebration for Christmas this year is that I test negative for COVID - that's all I want for Christmas is just a negative COVID test." October 2019: Bone bruise in her left knee as a result of a training accident prior to the World Cup season opener at Soelden. Won the opener then returned to New Zealand for rehabilitation. Born in Australia, she picked up skiing when the family moved to New Zealand when she was four. Began racing with the Queenstown Alpine Ski Team when she was around eight. (redbull.com; nzherald.co.nz, 23 Feb 2019)
Since 2019 she has trained with the International Ski Racing Academy, a program that works with a variety of elite athletes from multiple nations. Her coaches Chris Knight (NZE) and Jeff Fergus (USA) were both World Cup coaches with the U.S. Ski Team and formerly worked with Lindsey Vonn (USA). (israskiracing.com)

First World Cup win came at the season opener in Soelden in October 2019 when she was still 17. Her first podium came seven months earlier when she was second in giant slalom at the World Cup Finals in Andorra.
