22 February 2021: Facial cuts from an on-snow training accident in Jasna just after the World Championships. It did not impact her training and she was back racing 26 February 2021 in Val di Fassa, finishing ninth and 12th in World Cup downhills. (sport.aktuality.sk, 22 Feb 2021)

23 February 2020: Knee pain during a combined World Cup in Crans Montana, preliminarily diagnosed as cartilage damage. Was questionable for the next weekend's races in La Thuile, but did compete finishing fourth in super-G in what would become the final race of the COVID-shortened season. December 2013: Stretched shoulder ligaments and a torn bicep put her off the snow for a month. Returned to competition in January 2014 in a European Cup race in Melchsee Frutt, Switzerland. (Info 2018)

Her family operated buffets on two nearby ski resorts in Slovakia, so she and her brother were skiing there when she was young.

Milestones

OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
Made her Olympic Winter Games debut at Sochi 2014. Finished fifth in Alpine combined at PyeongChang 2018. Won her first gold medal in slalom at Beijing 2022, being the first gold medal for Slovakia in Olympic Alpine skiing.

Innsbruck 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games slalom champion beating Canada's Roni Remme by 1.49 seconds.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Six-time World Championships medallist across four events - one gold (2019 giant slalom), four silver (2017 team parallel, 2019 and 2021 Alpine combined, 2021 slalom), one bronze (2019 slalom).

2014 Junior World slalom champion (on her home hill in Jasna) and 2012 slalom bronze medallist. In five appearances (2011-15), she had three more top-10 finishes, including a fourth in the 2013 slalom missing the podium by 0.22 seconds.

WORLD CUP

Defending Overall World Cup and parallel champion (2021). In 2020, she won the slalom and parallel globes. in 2019, she battled Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) to finish second in the World Cup overall, slalom and giant slalom.
