February 2019: Torn left knee anterior cruciate ligament, damaged meniscus and cartilage, after falling at the World Championships in Are. Finished the race but missed the remainder of the season. Returned home for surgery and rehabilitation. (delo.si, 8 Feb 2019)
Had two knee cruciate ligament surgeries performed by Dr. Marko Macura at the Trauma Clinic in Ljubljana. “The knee is, in my opinion, the best it can be. He reminds me every morning that something has happened to him in the past, or that he gets a little angry with a lot of effort. Otherwise, it serves me well, otherwise I would not have achieved such success.” (dnevnik.si, 15 Dec 2020)

Always loved speed, whether on two wheels, four wheels or skis. From Pecovnik, just above Celje, a step away from the ski resort at Celjska koca. (slovenskenovice.si, 15 Dec 2020)
Slovenian teammate Bostjan Kline, whom he often shared a room with. "You can really learn a lot from Bostjan, so I observe him and talk to him about his procedures. He is a skier who dedicates his day to skiing. He is constantly thinking about progress, how to upgrade his technique, fitness. His effort is repaid and with that he also showed me the way.” (siol.net, 28 Mar 2017)
“No matter how many weights you can lift, in the end, the head decides. If you don’t trust yourself enough, which I’ve always had problems with, you can’t achieve a top result. That is why I pay a lot of attention to psychological preparation, and lately I have been working with Tanja Kajtna." (dnevnik.si, 15 Dec 2020)
